Introduction to IELTS

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is an internationally recognised language proficiency test conducted by the British Council, Cambridge Assement english and other organizations.

The two most popular versions are :

IELTS general - for people who want to emigrate to an English speaking country.

IELTS academic - for people who want to study or train in the UK or other english speaking country.

IELTS exams are divided into IELTS for UKVI and IELTS for Life Skills. These two are the same in terms of format, content, scoring and the level of difficulty. IELTS for Life Skills are required to prove one's speaking and listening skills for a UK visa and it has two levels - A1( when applying for a settled person visa) and B1(when applying for an indefinite leave to remain or citizenship visa). In summary, IELTS for UKVI is a perfect choice for work emmigration whereas IELTS for Life Skills is a perfect choice for settlement visa(A1 or B1).
